Did you know I've been sending out this newsletter, on a monthly basis, for 12 years, month in month out? Wow! That's 144 editions, give or take a few. Just goes to show the longevity of an Artist Owned Record Label, like mine. Warrior Girl Music was born in the year 2000 and since then we've released 6 albums for me, 3 albums for other artists, 4 compilations (Females On Fire series, and Art of Men), and 11, soon to be 12, Songsalive! CD Samplers (promoting songwriters); Plus produced 10 artist albums, and copious Album art. Not to mention 2 books, several world tours, a songwriters expo, a women's music festival, and coaching hundreds of artists globally in their careers.
It's good to take stock of the successes, don't you think?
I remember when the word "indie artist" was very new, and I was one of those artists. It's a fine achievement to be one of those who've helped pave the way to now what is seen as 'normal'. Back when I started, it was very avant garde, and even poo pood, to go outside major label seeking route. "Do it yourself? You've got to be kidding," they would say. Well, here I am, and here I STILL am.
About to do: Art exhibitions on both sides of the Pacific starting today; Radio Play in Japan; A request for help in our Grant seeking for Skillz; Songwriting workshops; A summer gig; and my new blog, "How much are you worth?"; Also, promoting a few things for artists below too.

Something a little different for gilli moon,... I'm exhibiting my art simultaneously on both sides of the Pacific, in the USA and in Australia.
Wollombi, NSW, Australia: My art is part of an exhibit of local artists, "Home Grown Art", starting today Saturday May 12 (opening) through to Sunday May 27th. I wish I was there personally. If you go, let me know. I do believe there will be wine and cheese, etc, at the opening this Saturday.
And in North Hollywood, CA, USA,
"Women!" - NoHo Gallery LA exhibition is still running until May 27th.
Also featured will be over a dozen historic images relating to women's issues such as: Our Founding Religious Patriarch fathers burning women at the stake juxtaposed by Darrly Issa's Congressional Committee of all religious male patriarchs testifying about invading women's reproductive rights.

Los Angeles Women In Music (LAWiM) a non-profit organization here in California, collects CDs throughout the year for our troops on behalf of Operation Gratitude (www.opgratitude.com). The CDs go in the Patriotic Drive and Holiday Drive care packages that are sent to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind, and to Wounded Warriors recuperating in Transition Units. Recently, Warrior Girl Music, Gilli's label, contributed 1300 Compilation CDs to LaWim's efforts, - CDs of the Females On Fire series (1,2 and 3) and Art of Men.
